Serendipity Cafe - Playa del Carmen

My wife and I visited Serendipity for breakfast on the recommendation of some locals on our last day in Playa. It's a pretty little cafe that hopping all the time we were there, including several people coming for take-out orders so you know that it's pretty good. The food was very delicious. My wife got a chicken sandwich that was very tasteful and beautifully built and served with some excellent sweet potato chips (and I usually don't enjoy sweet potatoes). I have the chiliquiles verde with some scrambled eggs and bacon upstairs. They were a little spicy and very pleasant. And the portions were very generous, I could hardly finish mine and my wife took the second half of her sandwich for later. The only drawback is that the service was a little inconspicuous. I ordered Chiliquiles verde, but the waiter brought Roja. When he was informed about the mistake, he showed that the ticket was roja. I definitely said Verde, so he wrote it wrong and then tried to put his own mistake on me. He was quick to take the wrong order back to get me the right one, but after 5 minutes told me it would be in two minutes, then 15 minutes later to me two more minutes. Finally, about five or six more came out after my wife had been well done with her breakfast. They were at least delicious. Other tables did not seem to have so many problems, and the woman at the reception that worked the coffee was very on her game, so it might have been just a bad waiter or he had a bad morning. Either way, the food made it worth it.

This place rocks!!!! My wife and i started coming here at the start of the year and we love eating here. We tell everyone about this diamond in the rough. Breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes are consistently yummy. Service is great as well. My favorite...dish is the green chiliquiles with eggs or chicken. Their machiado coffee and sweet breads are the bomb. Keep it up SERENDIPITY, NICE JOB!!!!!

We were there for dinner and very much enjoyed the meal. Nice selection and our dishes were delicious. waiter was very attentive and restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Would highly recommend!

Off the tourist zone on the West side of the highway is this little gem. Have had seared tuna. an asian infused veggie pasta and a beautiful chicken sandwich. The food is prepared and presented beautifully. The prices are so reasonable. Can't wait to try...it for breakfast.

Fuimos a desayunar por segunda vez, la comida y el menú muy bien. Sugiero ir antes de las 11am si vas en domingo porque a partir de las 11 se llena. El huevo yucateco esta buenísimo con un crisp de platano. Area de mejora es que tardan en llevarte las cosas, ejemplo pedí una salsa picante y me la llevaron cuando la pedí por segunda ocasión y ya estaba terminando mi desayuno.Fuera de eso todo muy bien!
