El Rey Del Taco - Playa del Carmen

Corner of the Mega carpark at night is filled with locals lining up for tacos out of a food truck. Food is delicious and super cheap here. Authentic carpark taco experience with no other tourists in sight. Really recommend every taco fan to try this...place. Fyi, its all in Spanish so brush up on your meats before you arrive.

The line up alone should give you an idea of how good and popular this place it. Popular with expats, locals and tourists, this is a place you should try to fit in (do what we do, we went to the Mega to do some...souvenir shopping and then to for some tacos). We got 2 bottles of coke and 2 beef tacos for just 60 pesos. We should have ordered more but we had been eating all day. Make sure to get onions and I added all the toppings (black beans, salsa, hot sauce, cucumbers).

This taco cart is located right in the Mega parking lot. If you want to get a taste of what locals eat this is where you need to go. There was a line of locals when I got there and one of them translated the...meat for me. The food is very fresh and delicious. They also have all the toppings lined up on the counter and they are all very good. The red sauce was very spicy and perfect if you love spicy like I do. They even have sliced cucumbers and salt there to eat on the side. I got 1 arrachera and 1 choriqueso. They were both delicious. They local that helped me was eating the choriqueso. If I had more time on my trip I would try the other meats too. These were some of the best tacos and you I'll be so happy if you try them.

The meat is cook and never chop up into little pieces allowing you to taste the meat by its self. You add the fixing that you want and they all taste great. Cheap dinner or lunch but with great taste. Its hard to find since its a roach coach but it is park on the south side of Mega Commercial Mexicana.

Does anyone know where they are now serving? I went to mega parking lot and there was another Tacco truck.
