Whistle Stop Cafe - Plant City

The sandwiches and desserts here are excellent. We really enjoyed our visit and, since we live nearby, we will definitely be returning.

We dropped by for a quick lunch today and found an amazing variety of options on the menu, making it hard to decide what to order. The cafe had a lively lunch crowd of all ages, and it was wonderful to see the diverse dishes being enjoyed. Everything was served hot and fresh, including the freshly baked cookies. The staff was friendly and efficient. The food was excellent, and we definitely plan to return!

While visiting Plant City chose the Whistle Stop Cafe for lunch and was not disappointed. Cafe had convenient parking on the street as well as a small lot adjacent. There was not a wait on a Saturday and sat in a comfortable booth and experienced very friendly, efficient service. We tried sandwiches on their own fresh baked bread and the potato soup special. Our half sandwiches were the size of an entire one from other restaurants. The food menu is extensive and in my estimation would equate to old fashioned home cooking, fresh and tasty. Our waiter took time to explain the menu and choices and guided us to their signature food. The cakes looked fantastic although did not sample on this trip. My husband enjoyed his root beer float, the potato soup was very good and my cherry crush of seltzer and cherry syrup was a nice change. While dining there was live piano music and we even got to see a train pass as next to the tracks. The sandwich and soup combo with potato chips was $9.50 a person and. much better than any fast food. There was a play area with toys int he front of the shop as well. I would visit again and highly recommend.

The atmosphere is great, the people are wonderful, and the food is incredible! Their Mac and cheese is the best I've ever had, and I truly think it’s the finest in Plant City. I highly recommend that anyone in the area or just passing through visit this lovely café and support this family-owned business. You won't be disappointed!

Listen People! This place is a true hidden gem in downtown Plant City. I was simply walking by and the history and decor caught my eye and I decided I had to eat lunch here. I’m so glad I did. They specialize in soups and sandwiches (All Homemade)The bread and soup are made fresh daily. This is a family owned and operated business. And I must say that the family is just great in their service. So friendly and engaging. Martha and her son were extremely awesome and I will definitely be back. Highly recommend!!
