Sankalp, The Taste Of India - Plano

We did catering order for around 170 people on a short notice after mouth watering dinner at the restaurant. The food was delicious and all our guest gave us the organic feedback which was awesome! We ordered Paneer Balti, Khoa Kaju along with Daal, Rice, Naan and Gulab Jamun for dessert. It was all delicious and no one could stop appreciating it. I would definitely recommend Sankalp, The Taste of India to anyone for both dining and catering as the taste doesn’t alter based on quantity.

Visited Sankalp a few times since its opening in Dallas. Over the last couple of years, the quality of food has deteriorated, while pricing continues to go up. The 4 ft dosa has gone from $28 to $42. In addition, schemes like payment via zelle to avoid taxes, and 4% charges when paying by credit shows that the owners only care about profit making. The service is very poor. The restaurant was not busy, and when we said that the food was too spicy or too strong for our taste; the waiter said that this is the only way the items are made as-if they are making exotic dishes that aren 't available anywhere else.

Ordered chettinad masala dosa and was hoping for a great spicy dosa but sorry to say but it was horrible. I had to literally remove all masala and have it as pain dosa. Samber was ok little less on salt but Chutney was not good. I will never go again. Service was ok considering it was weekday.

There was really no upside to this experience. The food was either so hot that it numbed the taste buds or really bland. There was no middle ground. The ambiance was non-existent and the service was poor. There were 5 waiters loitering about but none were cognizant enough to check tables. Ordering took a while, an incorrect dish was served, and the check took ages.
