There are 2 Latin Deli's: one here in Plano, and the other down south in Dallas. In my search for the Best Authentic Cubano Sandwich, I arrived here in Plano location. A smallish, but nice and clean eatery, with friendly staff, and charming ambiance. Also, a drive-thru window! Once you know the menu, use the drive-thru. A couple of outdoor tables in front, if weather and wind agree. Very nice young lady took my Cubano Sandwich request, I told her it was for a review. She brought it to my table, and this is a Winner! House fries, with skin, were fresh and perfectly seasoned with a Tajín powder, and served in a mini fry basket, looked and tasted awesome! The Cubano was on a baked French roll, commercial quality. Slices of seasoned pork (not shredded) 2 slices of lunchmeat ham, slice of provolone, pickles, Mustard, mayo, and among us was a tomato slice. Hmm. Here is the trick: Mayo is okay, then put cheese, Mustard, pickles on the Mustard, and ham, then pork. Mayby some thin shoestring onion. But, always offer a pepperoncini pepper, or slices, on the side. What you want is the Mustard the pickle juice to make the cheese flavor stronger and mix with the caramelized ham slices. This is the unique taste of the Miami Cubano. The Cubano here at Latin Deli is excellent, just needs a little tuning to be fantastic! So, this was a great first visit here at Latin Deli in Plano, Texas, and I will return to sample other items from the big menu.
The food is delicious! I've driven by this place several times and never noticed it. Luckily it's a stones throw from my house. The chicken sandwich was very flavorful, and it came with seasoned fries. The handmade lemonade was amazing. They make it fresh while you wait. I'd come for the coffee, dessert and Latin music alone.
The menu is extensive. My pulled chicken sandwich was so fresh and delicious, and my husband’s butifarra Sandwich and fries were the best he’s ever had. The music was invigorating and the colors of the restaurant and the verbiage were stimulating. Can’t wait to come back and try another dish
Very good breakfast! Stopped in after a 15k bike race on a Sunday morning. Only a couple tables were occupied. I had a great breakfast sandwich that came with seasoned fries. My friend had French toast with strawberries and bananas, she said it was very good. I also had a cafe mocha and my friend a vanilla latte. Mocha was odd because it had an overwhelming cinnamon flavor, not the norm for mocha. Maybe a Latin thing? I'd definitely go again and try the many other interesting menu items. They had a nice assortment of cupcakes and pastries, as well.
