Rikasa - Pittston

We decided to sample a variety of small plates and a soup as part of our meal. The first two dishes served were a rich Tomato Herb Bisque topped with a dollop of crème fraîche, and a bowl of Shrimp Scampi. The scampi included garlic, wine, butter, lemon, tomato, and spaghetti. Although it was supposed to be garnished with pepperoncini, none were visible. The shrimp was fresh and firm, the wine sauce was incredibly flavorful, and the pasta was cooked to perfection al dente. Both dishes were exquisite and left us eagerly awaiting the next courses. The Wild Mushroom Arancini featured five crispy risotto balls filled with wild mushrooms, parmesan, and herbs, accompanied by a roasted red pepper crème fraîche. This dish was not only tasty but also quite filling. The Palmero Ravioli was equally delightful, featuring large ravioli stuffed with beef and topped with blistered tomatoes and breadcrumbs. Both of these dishes were outstanding. For dessert, we indulged in Tiramisu and a decadent triple-layer chocolate cake, both accompanied by a touch of whipped cream. The Tiramisu was creamy with a subtle coffee flavor, while the cake was moist and indulgent. Both desserts provided a perfect ending to our truly satisfying meal. My only suggestion would be regarding the rooftop dining ambiance. While it was a romantic setting with couples enjoying the lovely outdoor temperatures, the large television broadcasting a college football game was an unwelcome distraction, especially with a nearby bar also showing the same game. This felt rather unrefined and detracted from the fine dining experience. It would have been preferable if the television showcased picturesque Italian scenery, or ideally, had been turned off altogether. Additionally, patrons should note that Rikasa adds a 3% surcharge to the bill for credit card payments. To avoid this fee, it's advisable to pay in cash. Rikasa features a main dining room on the first floor, and on the second floor is Joint 53, a speakeasy styled after the 1920s, which offers live music. While we didn’t visit during our trip, it sounds like a fantastic spot for pre- or post-dinner drinks. Overall, Rikasa is definitely worth your time and investment. Be sure to make a reservation, and once you arrive, immerse yourself in the captivating atmosphere and enjoy your experience.

This is a lovely restaurant with great staff, but the food is overpriced and underwhelming. I ordered the beef ravioli, which were small and tasted like something from Walmart, priced at $27. Another person in my group got the eggplant dinner, and they couldn't even finish it or take any leftovers home. While it's a nice spot for drinks, there are plenty of other restaurants to explore in the area. Food rating: 2/5.

The atmosphere and the food were awesome. We even had a drink down at the speakeasy. Beautiful place all around. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful dining experience. However, when we went upstairs, a tick fell on my friends head. We all were grossed out. We paid our liquor bill left. We showed the bartender. She was shocked. They should of not let us pay our liquor bill.Food: 5/5
