Scarpino - Pittsburgh

We enjoyed our visit to Scarpino. Went after the AAA travel show. Had the restaurant week meal. Also had their chile, which was very good. Nice friendly service.

This place was not what I expected. For a supposed high-end place. The food did not taste good at all. Barely cooked properly. Small portions at a high price. It's not worth over $100 for 2. Will not go back again.

I had the Chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes and broccoli. It was very good I would recommend it. I'll for sure be visiting this place again. I did not have a reservation, but I ate at the bar. Good service.

Enjoyed a nice quite dinner with my wife on Sunday night. We shared a couple plates, one being the veal piccata and it was delicious and also the margarita pizza. Both dishes were amazing, and so was the service. See you guys again real soon.

Our server (Dana) was very nice although I believe due to the crown (Saturday night/restaurant week/events in town) they were busy. Waited about 15 mins to be seated after our reservation time. I think they intentionally held seating back to catch up. Not a bad thing and my wife and I typically would have went to the bar for a drink, but it was just my daughter and I who is under 21, so that was not a real option. Waited at least 10 mins to be acknowledged after being seated. I was beginning to wonder if a server was assigned to our table. Once Dana arrived things went well.
