Bidrage med feedbackThe breakfast is awful. The eggs are powder and the bacon is a pile of grease. If you get an omelet, it'll be the worst omlet ever. I had a business stay of 5 days and could not make the first day. When I arrived the next day, the staff would not help me with the remaining four days and was told to re-book even though I stayed there 5 times in the calendar year
The good is nice rooms, comfortable beds and nice breakfast. Did not see any cleaning staff in the hallways for the 2 nights I was there. Our shampoo, conditioner and soap bottles in the shower were empty. Drawers were filthy with hair in it. Someone put a pizza box in the hallway and it sat there for at least 24 hours. It still was there when we checked out. Makes you wonder if the sheets were changed between people. Also for a lot less money you can park your car at the Mellon Square Garage across from the hotel.
This is an amazing hotel! Staff is super nice and the fitness center, pool and breakfast are amazing. Only problem is that the lobby is on the 25th floor which is odd, but other than that, the rooms are super spacious and nice and the food was amazing! It is also a 15 minute walk to PNC Park and the Heinz Center. Definitely recommend!
We spent 4 nights here during the last week of March. Typical Embassy Suites, you get a living room with a sleeper sofa and a bedroom. Both the BR and the living room have large flat screen tv with a decent selection of channels, suite also has a wet bar area. fridge and microwave plus a decent size bathroom. As other reviewers have mentioned, the suite did show some signs of wear and tear (i.e. some wallpaper peeling off the wall) but overall the suite was clean and comfortable. Free breakfast buffet included several hot items and a cooked to order egg/omelette station. We managed to have an adequate breakfast every morning. The hotel also has a happy hour with free cocktails from 5:30 p to 7:00 pm. We found the staff at both the breakfast and happy hour to be friendly. Hotel has an onsite restaurant....not a very large menu but we did eat dinner there one night and the both the food and waitress service were good. Hotel also has an indoor pool and while we did not have time to use it, the pool area did look very nice. Location is a mixed bag...on one hand there are alot of restaurants and sights within walking distance of the hotel...we walked from Hotel to the Heinz Museum, Point State Park (where the 3 rivers meet one another) and the Mononghela Incline tram. Downside of the location, which the hotel has no control over, is the fact that downtown Pittsburgh has alot of homeless people, drug addicts, and panhandlers. You do have to exercise common sense and be aware of your surroundings if you venture out at night. We personally never felt unsafe...the hotel occupies floors 15 through 25 of an office building and the ground floor does have a 24 hour security guard on duty, plus you have to swipe a room key to use the hotel elevators. Some of the other reviews I read mention rude, unhelpful front desk staff. We dealt with 3 front desk staff during our stay. 2 of the staff were okay, but the 3rd (woman who works the 3 to 11 shift, we never did confirm her name and she never introduced herself, her name might have been Jade but I'm not 100% sure) was downright unpleasant in tone and demeanor and also unhelpful. When we first checked in, we told this clerk we were a family and needed rooms close to each other. She assigned us to rooms 1603 and 1607 so we assumed these rooms were close together. Well, the floor plan of the hotel is quirky and it turns out that the 03 and 07 suites are essentially on opposite ends of the floor. We went back downstairs and spoke to the same clerk who checked us in and we asked to be put in suites that were closer together. this clerk responded that our rooms could not be changed, the hotel was sold out and there were no rooms of our type that were close together. I asked if she could go into the computer and try to find something, she stated that there was no need for her to look, the hotel was sold out and there were no other options. I asked her would it possible to get rooms close together if we upgraded our room type, her response was that if we upgrade we would have to be put on different floors. At this point it was clear from the tone of her voice that the desk clerk was quite annoyed so we left. The next morning, we spoke to a clerk named Jared.....he was able to accommodate our request and he did move us to a room that was closer to my mother in law's room. Not sure how it was that Jared had no problem assisting with our request while the 3-11 clerk made it clear she didn't want to hear it. On our 3rd day of the stay, we realized we needed some fresh towels and some plastic bags for the waste baskets (note that rooms are not service automatically, you have to request the service if you want your room made up) so at 4:30 pm I went to the front desk and spoke to the same unpleasant 3-11 clerk who had the attitude with us at check in, and I put in the request for the fresh towels and plastic bags. I pointed out that we had to leave for dinner at 5:30 and could they get these items to us before that time...the clerk responded by giving me a death stare and then mockingly
Pros: The food was very good. The noise level was low and we were able to talk comfortably. We weren't getting a good place for friends like that again. Excellent view. Cons: We left the elevator that expected a restaurant, instead found a bar, some tables near the bar and on the side of the bar. Okay, casual. There was a hostess stand, but no hosts. After standing for a minute or two, my husband went to the reception to ask where is the restaurant and the woman pointed out where we were standing. So we found a table. After a short while, a friend went to the bar and said they had red-white victory. You also have a beer list. She went back to tell the bartender what we wanted to drink and asked about food. It was provided with a sticky notepad. We had to write our own food order. She could find the cutlery and napkin rolls. Another couple behind us got their food and looked for spices. Our friend opened a closet and got them what they needed. The manager swung around and we found out that all servers, except the lonely, retrieved for the night. He was alone. The food came minus my husband's. So we had to wait for her to prepare his meal. The manager apologized. When the bill came, we were not paid for my friend being our waitress and not bringing my husband's food. I know that nothing can be done if the employees decided not to show up for work. But I thought they had a plan B. This restaurant has been open for a while and it seems like it opened the night. And I was very disappointed that we as paying customers were not provided any compensation or concern for the devastating night. Unfortunately, we will never visit this facility again.
