Bidrage med feedbackWe chose this osteria because they had the typical cecina on their menu. The place was cozy and simply decorated; we were welcomed by the smiling and helpful Oste, who took our order. I ordered a bottle of the house red wine, which was promptly served and tasted fine. We were absorbed in a deep conversation when the wine was served and we realised only later on that the bottle was not freshly opened at our table like the Oste did with the table around us; he had served us an already opened bottle. The wine tasted fine and we wanted to enjoy the dinner so, we carried on with the meal. My girlfriend had the cecina and I had a tagliata with mushrooms. The courses were good and my steak really enjoyable and well cooked. When I ordered the tagliata I made sure that it was a 300 gr steak and the Oste confirmed that. After the main, we ordered a cheesecake, which came warm on a cold plate. I drew the attention of the Oste letting him know that the cheesecake was warm and he replied that it was supposed to be served that way. I was not sure about that and we left it on the table having eaten only two spoonfuls. After the coffee, we asked for the bill; we saw that we were not charged for the wine (10 euro) but we were charged for the tagliata for 25 euro instead of 15 euro we were expecting (it was 5 euro per 100 gr on the menu). We paid and we left. I do not know what happened and I didn't bother asking but I found all thing very cheeky and non-professional. The Oste didn't bother acknowledging our complaint on the cheesecake and played a weird trick on the bill; that was the money we had to pay anyway but I was let down by the lack of communication.
We decided to seek out 050 after reading the excellent reviews on TA. I have to say that we couldn't see what exactly generates such wonderful reviews. The starter (bruschetta) took 50 minutes to arrive, it was nice but nothing to get excited about, almost immediately afterwards the main course was served, burger and fries, (no bread, just burger) the fries were essentially hot crisps. Nice but not what I had in mind. Another thing was the weird background music, too loud and irritating. Must be getting old!!
I was born and raised in Pisa, and since when I discovered it, this place has been one of my absolute favourites in town. What I like most is the freshness of the ingredients, which are all biological and there is such a variety of types of food that I think it can suit every palate. I highly recommend the Tagliata di Chianina topped with a fondue of blue cheese and taleggio cheese, it is to die for!
Dinner for 2, 2 courses and vegetables, all the food was outstanding, Rabbit and Lamb were superb, desert outstanding. Original style, very tasty
My boyfriend and I went here for lunch on Saturday. We were greeted by someone who I assumed was the owner, who was very friendly. Our expectations were high as the place is recommended in the LP guide. I ordered a burger and my boyfriend ordered beetroot risotto. The burger consisted of a dry, overcooked beef patty, a fried egg, a tablespoon of ketchup and chips on the side. No bun, no lettuce, no tomato not even salt or pepper. It 's the worst burger I 've ever had. The patty was dry and crumbled in my mouth it was so horrible, I left most of it. The chips were alright. My boyfriend 's risotto was all looks, but very bland with a lack of seasoning and the 'cheese fondue ' nowhere to be found or tasted. All in all: very disappointing. I wouldn 't recommend it.
