1895 Grille - Pinehurst

We stayed at the Holly Inn for our Girls Spa weekend and purchased a spa package that included breakfast. We were pleased to find a buffet with a great variety of options. The service was outstanding and the restaurant was beautifully decorated.

Great food and service recently. This is the “elite”restaurant among the Resort options. I have one recommendation for Management. Lighting. The sconces on each pillar are much too bright. If you sit at any corner or perimeter table near a sconce, the glare is very distracting. A different light bulb or sconce shade that brings a softer light to this cozy room is needed.

On Pinehurst Property: Good food at the Holly Inn at within Pinehurst. Cool room and vibe. Steak and seafood menu has lots of options. What surprised us was the spotty service. On two occasions, it was not four star service. Food was generally very good steaks and seafood. Had to send one soup back. One lead server had to read everything from her specials menu and mispronounced a number of menu items. Our servers at the nearby Carolina Room were always great. Very different experience. The woman who seated us was very professional and on point. Somm was also friendly. However, servers need to be held to a much higher standard to retain four diamonds. Dinner at this restaurant is truly exceptional. The service is attentive, and the staff is genuinely dedicated to making sure you have a wonderful dining experience. I ordered the lamb, and it was absolutely divine. Also, don’t miss out on the bread they serve; it’s all incredibly tasty.

The food was enjoyable, but I found it a bit pricey. The scallops with bacon were my favorite dish. The crab soup was average, while the lamb soup was slightly better than average. However, since we spent $140, I expected a bit more. Nonetheless, we had a lovely time celebrating my wife's birthday.
