I was really happy that I made the journey. It’s 12 km off the R74 on a dirt road, and at an average speed of 28 km/h, it took some time to get there. I had a bicycle rack with bikes, so I drove more carefully. But when history is involved, it's definitely worth it!
This is a really impressive monument situated in a seemingly remote area. I recommend not using Google Maps for directions; instead, follow the official brown signs along the main road. Just a heads up, you'll be driving on a dirt road for about 12 kilometers.
Must be visited for every layered buffet! not bad. about 12km dirt. only 1.5 km rocky.
This place just gives you the chills in a good way. Makes me extremely proud to be an Afrikaans woman. Makes you believe that the Boers will always find a way to survive and that they will never be oppressed, because they will stand up for themselves, together.
