Bidrage med feedbackFood was great!!! I ordered Kanom jeen nam ya poo (rice vermicelli in fish Curry crab sauce) this was recommended by my Thai friend, khao neow mamuang (mango with sticky rice and creamy coconut milk topping), and fresh young coconut. The restaurant Vibes is somehow old, but somehow I enjoyed my times there One of the waiters (I forgot the name) he serves me very well!! Really great experience. Beautiful Thai cuisine restaurant in a conservat Sino Portuguese building. Good service and delicious authentic Thai cuisine.
Please do not believe that the hypes of “Travelers” that probably never set foot there... and save your money. On the stormy evening for dinner, so we started, but we moved in the first thunderstorm. Of course, the situation is brilliant. And the house is pretty impressive. The hotel is situated on a steep hill, but has shuttle buses. The rest was a disaster, I mean, it's a restaurant, so the food is important. Waiters were confused and slow, although it served only a handful of tables. I swear, the food was simply “old”. I can only assume they don't have a kitchen and they get it from the main restaurant. No attention to detail. My Papaya salad was served with a sticky rice that was completely dry. The chicken seed was stone-cold, what would be the coal grill if it were up. We sent that back. One of the main was grilled tiger shrimps and I don't think I ever had such dry shrimps in my life. The other was cumbersome, and it was lukewarm and gummy like the one you get in Chinese everything you can eat. The only good dish was a fried morning fame salad. I try to understand how this is possible because the place is open only in the evening and I think there is simply no way that this sticky rice was cooked on the same day. All this for 2000 THB including the taxi to get from the corner. What a shame. The 2 stars are for the location, the food was worth zero stars.
We have often denied ourselves here, but that was our first visit in 13 years. Another wonderful place in a fabulous environment.
We visited the Monday evening themes Thai Buffet. This included Thai music and dance entertainment. The food was nice and typical for all buffet evenings here at the Cape Panwa Hotel. A wide selection of cold appetizers, hot nets and then deserts. Everyone eats out at tables on the grass. For 950 bht it was good value for money.
