A friend recommended Town Talk, as he knew of the original location. We were welcomed by the owner, very friendly. The staff was great. The food delicious without a doubt. BBQ sauce was so tasty.
We loved the family feeling and friendly atmosphere. I chose a combination plate and was not impressed by the ribs, but the rest was fantastic. Like cabbage. I'd drive the 10 miles there, just for the cabbage. It was excellent!!! Not convinced that it is the best bbq I have ever eaten, but it is definitely not the worst and the friendly feeling and the great service were fantastic.
The bride was very good. They claim to smoke meat with mesquite chips, and I believe it because I just recently made a brisket at home with mesquite and that had a very similar taste; except Town Talks was much more delicate and more juicy than mine was! Their sauce was a good mix between vinegar, tomatoes and sugar. I would say it leans towards vinegar which is my personal preference; for each of their own in this category. The only thing I'm gonna change next time is ordering the sauce on the side as they put it on a bit thick for my pleasure. Her pages also leave something to be desired. Very good grill.
I only had time to grab and go, but was impressed by what I saw. The location was super clean and the host was friendly and helpful. A southern recipe bbq style is a beautiful change, definitely worth a try if you are looking for something else.
