South Mountain Cafe - Phoenix

My family and I went to breakfast yesterday and the whole food was delicious. My mother and my brother ordered the American breakfast, and shared some homeries, pepper bacon and pancakes. The Homefries, where Savory, and Speck was thick tasteful and crispy. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious. I ordered the chilaquiles, they were delicious, the only thing is a desire, they had just a little more sauce, and some sour cream, and queso fresco upstairs would have made it so much better. Anyway, it was delicious, had good rice and beans together and they tastefully. It'll be totally back.

The food was amazing as the owners!!!! The chef...yes chef, because he was much more than a chef, even spoke to us after eating over different menu items!!!! Amazing little S Phoenix hidden gem

We were happy to find and love some of the best chefs in the valley and the creations they offer. The common thread with all its restaurants is that they are locally owned and with local food. Peg and I have heard from South Mountain and Chef Jose Zacarias Sr. and were determined to review it. We ate breakfast this morning (served by Jose Jr, and only smiled. Local produces good, simple, honest food. Basic and beautiful. The standard stars of eggs (perfectly chopped and over simple, crunchy bacon, simply prepared roasted potato flakes and paprises and light fluffy pancakes (although I had only about three bites... didn't want to overdo....surprisingly.... In the middle of a neighborhood that overloaded chain restaurants... I strongly encourage you to support this family. Fall in point when we came to the restaurant, the chef scrubbed down the threshold to the front door, then stopped and helped Peg to climb the steep curb while I got the door, and then he went to the kitchen. All the chefs we know carry many hats... and this was no exception. Dr. B

I was here three times in three weeks, they're here for something really good! So happy to have a café like this in South Phoenix. The breakfast items are A, Chilequiles as good as Mamas!

Great food and great service. Jose, the owner, is a great chef and really a great cook. My kids also loved the kids menu options.
