Barrio Queen - Phoenix

Barrio Queen has a nice atmosphere. It reminds me of a Mexico City type of restaurant but serves Sonoran fare. The chips are thick and the salsa is good! There?s a good selection of tequilas and the prices are probably higher than average for similar items yet I still find myself coming back. Service has been good and the experience remains consistent over multiple visits which I appreciate.

Wow, what can I say about how disappointed I am in the restaurant and the staff. So the food was not terrible for me. I had the carne asada burrito it was $19.50 for something you 'd find at chipotle for way less. My Mother ordered a taco and asked for a yellow corn tortilla because she doesn 't care for blue corn. They got it wrong. Also, it wasn 't even a taco, it was more like a tostada. The soup had very little flavor and was all rice. Missing the broth. She ended up just eating her avocado that was in her soup. Now, she had taken maybe half a bite of the taco and had to send it back. Well, that is when our waitress Valentina FINALLY made it back to us. I also had a small margarita that was over priced for a meh drink. When the bill came they had charged $6 for the taco and given back $5. We had paid but then asked the waitress about it. Just to preface, we didn 't understand why they would charge for something they made in error. Essentially, she said well, it 's just a dollar. It 's the manager who decided and she walked off. I cannot even stress how RUDELY she spoke. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone, unless you 're looking for rude service, bloated prices and sub par food.

This place is beautiful. It is very clean. And the staff is extremely hospitalable and friendly. I went there with some family members. The ones that ordered the tacos seem to enjoy their food the best. I ordered the teca burrito. That burrito is made with beef ribs. The meat was pretty dry, I had to drown it in sauce to make it tolerable. It felt like the meat might have been cooked a while ago and just kept warm. Some of the other plates that were ordered had the same problem with the meats being a little on the dry side.

Great food and good vibes. You must try the elote on the cob. Best Mexican street corn Ive had. Chips and salsa are a great way to start. Shrimp cocktail was large and delish. Good quantity is just as good as the quality.

I. Am. Obsessed. Not sure who is responsible for making the best horchata on the planet, but I might need to marry them. The tacos a perfect dance of all different flavors and the queso makes you keep eating till you're overstuffed, but can't put it down because it's so good. The whole vibe of this place is ON, every corner you look there is beautiful decoration and art and it's just a sight to see. The staff is so pleasant and friendly and they are all just epic, every single time I come here. Ironically I bumped into this place by accident, by looking for another place that doesn't exist anymore and I am so so so so glad that's how this went. My new place to go, Gracias Barrio Queen ??
