Bidrage med feedbackI came here almost 3yrs ago and sang its praises but with my recent visit something felt different like maybe ownership changed. It was still ok but just ok.
The food is absolutely unbelievable. With all the different spices and seasonings it's like a party in your mouth. I've never in my life taste it such delicious food. It reminds me of a place that I used to go to New York called the spice market. It was the meat district in New York. The lamb chops were absolutely delicious and quite a presentation. Kashmiri Korma with Shrimp is my favorite dish. The flavors are absolutely incredible. Vegetable Pakora Cauliflower, green beans, sweet chili–soy was to die for definitely order this appetizer. The handmade hand stretched Garlic Naan is the best I've ever had. The Shrimp Chaat (Ceviche) as an appetizer is also amazing and a must have . The Spinach Saag with Chicken or Shrimp is mouth watering!! I could eat here every night the food is that good.
The food was good and the service as well. However, we were a party of 4 on 2 separate checks and they served rice for the 4 of us in one dish to share. Same for the 2 orders of naan, they came in one basket. Would have preferred to have this separated as not everyone is comfortable with family style serving. Or at least asked about our preferences.
Marigold Maison is an excellent choice if you're looking for praiseworthy authentic Indian cuisine. They offer some newly added “Indo Chinese” delicacies that didn't disappoint. We started out with one; Chicken Dumplings, which was outstanding!! High fives to chef, Sunil Kumar! For entrees, we decided on Chicken Saag and Buttered Shrimp at regular spice level (very little both were very good, although the sauces were thinner than others we've tried elsewhere. Not that that was a detriment, as we figure it equates to less fat (which is heart healthy . I felt they were both excellent; my husband on the other hand, found them less rich tasting and prefers thicker sauces. Personally, I enjoyed them very much wouldn't change a thing. The Naan wasn't as crispy as we're used to, but we suspect it may have been underdone. We delighted in their dessert, Gulab Jamun, which is a bowl of tasty little balls of pure heaven served with ice cream and whipped cream; yum! That said, we had a difficult time choosing from these sweet balls of goodness and their Chocolate Lava Cake, so we ordered one to go and can hardly wait to try it tonight! Marigold Maison's wonderful cuisine takes center stage here; the atmosphere maybe not so much. We'd call it more like a cafe type atmosphere, perfect for business meetings, yet decent for a couple's night out. We appreciated the fact that it wasn't a sterile or fast food place and feel our intermittent assistants wonderfully kind server, Pushpa, was a true delight making our night out a special one. We also appreciated Pushpa's sensitivity in allowing us time alone to enjoy our dinner and one another which is an important element of our once a week date night out. Thank you so much for a memorable dining experience, Pushpa Sunil, you are 2nd to Naan! See you soon! (Sorry for the photo of our half eaten Gulab Jamun, it's just SO GOOD we couldn't wait!
Spectacular Indian Food! Seriously, this place may have the best Indian food anywhere in the valley, and the owners are such lovely and wonderful people. They order all of their spices directly from India and grind them and the quality of the other ingredients is also amazing. Plenty of options for every type of dietary concern, all in a very charming location. Very fair prices as well.
