Bidrage med feedbackLast day before they closed for good. Going to miss this place.
This place is a Phoenix legend and a valley treasure. I am sad to report that they have been priced out of their current location (after 3 decades of wonderful service) and will soon be closing. I have been enjoying meals here since I was 2 feet tall, and tonight I will probably be enjoying my last. BEST Mongolian Beef in town, and it's not even close. I will miss Little Peking, with it goes a piece of my childhood, and one of the best places to eat in North Phoenix.
Like all the Chinese restaurants I have tried in north Phoenix, it is mediocre. Place is run-down, dim and lacks natural light; it has been there at least 12 years, looked kind of old when I moved to the area then. When ordering take-out do not believe them when they say it will be ready in 20 minutes. Instead, call them back after 20 minutes and ask if it is ready. I got tired of waiting and left after one episode, came back later and they were apologetic and knocked a little off the tab for not having the food ready in 40 min after saying it would be ready in 20. They seem genuinely nice, just a bit slow. There was something wrong with the taste of the shrimp in the hot and sour soup, maybe they were not deveined; soup is better without the shrimp.
The sweet and sour was good BUT the pork was over cooked. The table had been wiped but NOT thoroughly and my shift stuck to the table. Had to call for someone to rewipe the table. Then noticed sticky sauce on my shirt. Again called for help. They tried to wipe the sauce but that did not work. Moved to a new table and again called to get a new Cloth napkin but they did not give me just paper. The manager did keep saying sorry but did not offer to fix the problem. Bringing out an egg roll or a dessert would have been the professional as well as thoughtful thing to do. Amateur
I love everything about this place! Food is beyond amazing, I order food from here everytime I get the chance!
