Bidrage med feedbackThe restaurant is always busy, but the staff is able to quickly find a free table for customers. I like to sit near the front window and admire the regularly changing decorations. The service is impeccable despite the crowd. The Thai iced coffee is a pleasant surprise. Edit: The next day, I decided to visit the restaurant again on a whim and ordered the jungle curry, the other maximum heat dish. I found the spiciness level to be just right for me, and I could have made it even spicier by chewing the sliced chilies in the curry. However, I felt that the flavor was not as fresh as I would have liked. I attribute this to the late hour of my order at 2:30pm. Next time, I will stick to ordering the Paad Phrik Thai Sod. Service was perfect as usual, despite the waiter forgetting to give me cutlery.
The food at this restaurant is average. I have tried the pad thai with chicken and prawns a few times since it's close to my workplace, but it's nothing special and a bit expensive. The vegetables with cashews had a heavy oyster sauce flavor and tasted like something I could easily make at home. The standout dish for me was the mussaman chicken curry, with moist and tender chicken in a delicious curry sauce. It was slightly salty and oily, but I still managed to finish most of it. The wait staff is friendly, and I appreciate the effort they put into changing the decorative vases and flowers on the tables every few days. Overall, the Thai food here is average, and I have had better elsewhere.
Thai Spice in Woden is a great spot for delicious curry puffs and decent Thai cuisine. I frequent this restaurant often since it's conveniently close to my workplace. My go-to dish is the pad thai with chicken and prawns. Although my colleagues have mentioned that the restaurant has changed ownership over the years and isn't as good as it used to be, it still satisfies my cravings. The Massaman curry, a popular choice with potatoes and peanuts, is usually ordered with beef, but I opted for the chicken version with saffron coconut rice. The dish was absolutely delightful, with tender and succulent chicken that melts in your mouth. The sauce was flavorful and slightly salty, making it hard not to want to savor every last drop. One of my colleagues even joked about wanting to drink the sauce straight from a cup. However, the saffron coconut rice was a bit underwhelming as it lacked a distinct coconut flavor, tasting more like plain saffron rice. Overall, the Massaman chicken curry was a standout dish worth trying at Thai Spice.
