White Dog Cafe University City

I absolutely love this place! However, I have a couple of suggestions for the manager: 1) Please make sure the plates are hot, and 2) Please provide spoons when serving soup. Additionally, it would be nice if the indoor temperature could be raised a bit for a cozier atmosphere.

I've visited White Dog Cafe numerous times, and it remains a classic favorite. On this occasion, we had an excellent server named Kevin who was very attentive to our needs. We ordered the Ricotta, Salmon, Fries, Sweet and Spicy Broccoli, along with some cocktails and wine. Unfortunately, the only dish we didn’t enjoy was the broccoli; the menu description didn’t mention that it was deep-fried and quite heavy. We each took a bite but then left it untouched. Kevin noticed and kindly asked if we wanted to take it home since we hadn't eaten it, but we should have been upfront about our disappointment. While the broccoli had good flavors, the frying was unexpected, but everything else was absolutely DELICIOUS, as always.

I had a wonderful dining experience! I highly recommend making reservations, as there was quite a long wait for brunch. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly, and our server was also nice—she was busy but attentive throughout our meal. The food was delicious! Each of us ordered something different, and we all loved our choices. The atmosphere was lively and a bit noisy, but we were still able to have a conversation. The decor, with its themed rooms, adds an extra special touch. Definitely make a stop here when you're in Philly, whether you're touring colleges or visiting family and friends!

Amazing food, amazing ambience, and an absolutely perfect setting for our dinner with out-of-town guests!

We loved our server the food the everything. I have gone to this restaurant periodically since the early 90s even though different always really good.
