Bidrage med feedbackPar excellence. I couldn't give a better description. You absolutely make time to go here, seriously.
Had a great lunch, our server was great she was so patient and nice since we had two rowdy little kids with us. Best neighborhood spot in south philly!
I’ve been here a couple times in the past few years, I’ve always really liked the atmosphere. I haven’t gone back much because the prices are a little inaccessible. It’s a shame because I live right around the corner, but I just can’t justify paying $20 for a sandwich. If that included tip, I would understand, but I don’t believe the tip is included. I do like that they have vegetarian options.
I'm a travel nurse based in South Philly, and I have mixed feelings about this place. If you're not from South Philly or don’t know anyone here, I suggest you skip it, especially outside of summer. Tonight, the bartender was wonderful and attentive, so I’m giving her 5 stars. However, during the weekdays after the kitchen closes, the atmosphere feels exclusive, mainly catering to food service workers who already know each other and just want to vent. Unfortunately, they can come across as standoffish and passive-aggressive towards outsiders. As an ER nurse, I was hoping for a place to unwind after a tough shift, but my experience here was quite disappointing and uncomfortable. If you're looking for something open after midnight in the area, I recommend trying Watkins or just calling it a night.
I finally made it here after wondering since it opened years ago. This place left me confused. People sitting in the dark bar area with their kids when there is an adjacent restaurant section. Who brings little kids into a bar around people getting drunk? I can 't sit, chill, and drink with a friend while a little kid is chomping away and crying next to me as their slightly nurotic helicopter mom won 't shut up. Weird mix of people, many that look like they should move out to the mainline or some other suburban area. It felt like it was trying to be something it 's not cool. Drink prices are like in Manhattan or Rittenhouse but no alcohol in it. I know how much that booze cost stop being stingy. Food tastes good but was expensive and small, like trying to be a 5star multi course dining experience. Again, it confused me are you a dark bar, fine dining, family restaurant, local hangout? Too many conflicting messages for my simple tastes. I guess it 's to be expected from the people who tried to carve Newbold out of Point Breeze, and now everyone knows it and says Point Breeze. Claims they are about the community, but really only about a particular slice of So Philly willing to pay the price. Saw no people of color not one! So many cool local places to go with much more diversity. Hard pass on going back. I felt broke and not full after dinner and a couple drinks.
