Tonsai Seafood - Phi Phi Islands

This restaurant edges onto Tonsai Beach so it's a great location. The food was good, but for the price I would expect more. One thing I found strange was the amount of seafood on offer (for BBQ) but you had to order separately from your main meal all items are included on the same menu but seafood orders required going to the fish counter to order. I wanted a surf and turf type set up so this was an inconvenience. Could definitely do with streamlining. All above said, it worked out that our BBQ seafood came out a few minutes after our steaks. Steaks were very well cooked. Staff were friendly. Setting and ambience was great, as expected.

Well, its a restaurant and if you talk about the food taste, I would give it a 5 star but the service quality is not so good, specially rush hours. They hardly understand any English and dont bother much to get it right. Hence, be careful while ordering make sure they understand the right thing. Other than that, the food is really owesome as mentioned before. And the cost is reasonable too. The setup is just beside the sea with relaxing natural atmosphere. They accept credit card but with 3% extra charge which is a shame in most of the places at Phi Phi. We had two meals there and would recommend this place if you are looking for really good seafoods.

We only had the roasted Tiger Prawn in pineapple boat and fried Tiger Prawn with Garlic Thai Pepper style with rice. Food was good, prices are little bit higher. 2000thb for 1kg of Tiger Prawn. Staff was ok but little bit slow.

It had a great view as was in front of my hotel and I thought I would try it. The spring rolls were definitely out of the freezer and low quality.The prawns on the seafood salad tasted spoiled. I didn’t eat it. The beef salad was actually quite good so maybe just order that. My partners fried fish came long after everything else was finished. She cleared the table after setting it down. The service was also pretty bad the worst I’ve had in Thailand. Just very inattentive. Trust the other reviews and skip this place.

Absolutely the worst place I’ve ever eaten. Poor food but even worse staff, we were shouted at and humiliated by one of the female staff for sending our disgusting soup back because it took us 10 minutes, this was only because it was so hot we couldn’t eat it to begin with so we had to wait for the soup to cool down. They then left us and refused to clear our table and forced us to pay for it. I wouldn’t eat here again if I was starving on deaths door.
