Shimizu Donabe & Bento - Perth

I chose Shimizu because it was probably the best looking (clean and uncrowded) of the places to eat at Watertown. The prices were very reasonable, the servings generous and the food was delicious. The service was also excellent; a blend of impeccable Japanese courtesy with cheerful Australian spirit. Will definitely be back.

Spoken to owner/manager of habour town branch. She explained that currently the beef is NOT halal. Its currently procured from non-muslim butchers due to commercial reasons - price hikes from existing butchers. They are now looking for alternate sourcing.Advice that muslims abstain from beef for now at this restaurant. Other items are ok.

If you're looking for good fresh Japanese food at very reasonable prices, then this place is your best bet. The service too is pretty fast and the staff are always smiling, which is a rarity in so many of the other restaurants we have recently visited.Overall 7/10.

Food was tasty, portions were huge. We tried their fried rice with chicken, california maki and shrimp sushi, fish and chicken rolls and miso soup. Very comforting, keeps us full till dinner.
