Bidrage med feedbackWe had breakfast at Post this morning. We had POST's version of Eggs Benedict, Lemon Pancake & Big Breakfast. Price were about the same as other breakfast places but the size of all dishes were quite small. Taste wise? Not much to rave about (standard). Big breakfast Scrambled Eggs was dry and not creamy as it should. Standard mushroom, sausage and bacon. Potato Rosti was nice & crispy though. Mocha coffee was alright, watery. Service was attentive but not too friendly. I'd rather go to Petition Kitchen next time as they have more interesting dishes on menu.
Went here for a work dinner. Friendly and effective staff. Excellent food and a good wine list too. Not too noisy even though in a group so we could actually talk. Makes a change! Ended up eating 3 courses!
Had an enjoyable evening with two friends here. The complimentary bread to start is amazing, served warm with crispy edges. It was so good I ate it without the olive oil. My friends had the pork belly entree which they thoroughly enjoyed. I had the duck agnolotti which was also very tasty. For mains I had the steak which was a little undercooked (whilst I normally eat rare, I ordered medium as I am pregnant at the moment) it came medium rare and a little ****. But it was very yummy nonetheless. The sides we ordered were the baby carrots and pumpkin. Both were faultless. In particular I really liked the mini pumpkins - just delicious with the yogurt. All three desserts we ordered look great and tasted great! Service was polite and attentive. Would eat here again. For 3 courses and a drink each it came to around $100pp which I considered fair given it's part of the Treasury Como.
I went there on a Monday night. The staff were very nice and friendly. The food were great and fresh. The chief specially cooked a beef steak dish for me even though it was not on the menu. The food is not well priced. I will definitely go there again.
Despite some of the misleading photos, this is basically Como hotel's generic breakfast restaurant. Popped in for a quick breakfast meeting with a colleague and although it is "good" there wasn't anything to set this alight in my gastronomic memory. Which is a shame because although I do understand it is hard to make a statement for a breakfast service, there are plenty of other CBD locales nearby that are doing just that. The menu is interesting, but again hotel management or the Chef seem to have hoped that by being "edgy" or "flancy" they will make a statement to diners. Instead, as customers, we found ourselves saying that although parts of dishes were looking good, it didn't really have what we wanted for a simple quick breakfast. For any detractor reading this, yes, I am well aware that menus don't need to have "bacon and eggs" to attract an audience, but neither do you need to push the boat out too far with the "Zucchini roesti and salmon" when it is a blatant attempt to make eggs bene (or for purists, Eggs Royale or Eggs Atlantic) look modern. If you know customers want eggs benedict, why pretend to be doing something else? The service wasn't great though, and that's why the score is lower. Hovering, not very well polished or presented, and not very active listeners. Customers want to feel attended to and valuable. We are not your mates, and we are not an inconvenience either. Price wise, the dish as a whole was reasonable, and definitely cooked to perfection. So The Post clearly have a kitchen team out the back who know what they are doing, and that gives me confidence. But the fact you've charged me the extra $4 for ONE poached egg to complete the dish makes me feel like I stepped into a trap (making the dish only $22 and well worth it). $5.50 for tea but only $4 for a latte? - that makes no sense to me. And no, I don't care on the brand, I care that you added boiling water from a machine into a pot. The barista in the foyer though, was making a roaring trade, and the tables in the foyer in general were looking very busy for meetings. We, however, were seated in the restaurant, almost completely by ourselves. Overall then I would say this was a good experience, but not great, and I will keep visiting the independent breakfast venues around town rather than return.
