Nubia Cafe - Perth

Yes service was slow to begin.  However it was well worth the wait and our kids love this place they keep asking to go.This is our 3rd or so visit (our first this year). The gentleman said I will just bring out an array of stuff and we said go for it. The chicken and fish are fresh and stunningly simple. Yet tastes so good. The chicken stew is amazing as is the lamb. The dishes don't look very big however by the end of it we are all full. Just beware there is a sauce they bring out and it is sooooo hot. I avoid it at all costs. The best part of this dinner is the cost for 5 of us it cost just over $60 and we all left full and happy. Definitely worth a visit but don't be expecting the best looking place in town. And again the wait is worth it.

We ordered the lahama (grilled lamb) and samak (deep-fried Nile perch fish) with rice and warm flatbread. The dishes could have been warmer, but they were okay. We also got Nubia chilli and Nubia mish to accompany our mains, as they didn't come with sauces. My friend enjoyed the Nubia style spice tea, which paired well with our desserts Basta and Bala el sham. Khalid provided friendly service throughout our meal. If you're an adventurous foodie, I recommend giving this restaurant a try. It's definitely worth a visit.

I went to this restaurant for dinner using a Scoopon voucher. It was a great experience as I had never tried Sudanese cuisine before. The waitress was extremely helpful in detailing the dishes, the regions they originated from, and the traditional way of eating them.

Great experience. Amazing service. Ambience could use some help but this does not detract from the overall experience given all of the other features which are more than redeeming. The grilled lamb and the Fried Chicken were excellent as was the sujuk. Good choice of bottled soft drinks.

A Sudanese cuisine not to be miss! I've been here twice within a span of 3 years. I must say the quality remains the same. The meat was super tender, cooked with charcoal. The meat/fish taste are full of wonderful flavours and make sure you add a bit of chilli for some kick. Definitely be back again.
