Dough Pizza - Perth

This is a first for me: a negative review : We were staying only a 200 m walk away but when I got home the pizza was COLD. There was no way it could have been hot when I picked it up. And we were...given the wrong salad. So having looked forward to a lovely wood-fired pizza, we ended up with a box of disappointment.

This restaurant serves amazing pizza! It is definitely the best I have had in a while. However, be prepared for a wait. The service is a bit inconsistent, but generally polite. Expect at least a 20-minute wait for drinks and another 20 for your meal to arrive. If you don't mind the wait, this is the top spot in Perth for authentic pizza.

This restaurant offers great value for money! If we were staying in Perth longer, we would definitely go back. It would have been a perfect five out of five, but unfortunately coffee and dessert were not offered (and we really wanted coffee!).

This is my first negative review on Trip Advisor. Despite the positive reviews, we decided to order three pizzas and a pasta for takeaway based on recommendations. The total came to $100. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed with the food and only ate it because we were hungry and it was expensive. The pizza sauce tasted like it came straight from a tin and the toppings were sparse. The spaghetti carbonara seemed to have cheese sauce from a jar rather than the usual creamy goodness. See the attached photo for reference. Overall, it was a unpleasant dining experience.

Only given it 2 stars because the food is still not bad, but everything else was a disaster. In the last few months they have changed the menu. They have introduced a few starters and a couple of pastas, but the pizza variety has been...cut in half (my favourite pizza is gone). To top it off, last Friday (18 January) the whole restaurant tables, couches, chairs and even the cash register were covered in black soot from the pizza oven. That means your hands while you are eating, your clothes, your phone that you have left on the table, your bag on the floor literally everything was black. After we complained we were told that they had cleaned the pizza oven earlier that day and somehow all the soot from the oven ended up covering the entire restaurant. And they did not bother to clean it. At all! After we told the waitress that our hands were constantly black she came and wiped off the table and tried to hide the cloth that she used, but I pointed it out to my husband so she had to show it to us. It was black! So they made no effort at all to clean the mess, they just let their customers in without warning them at all. I still can't believe that. While we were paying the lady said she was sorry, but still charged us full price. In the last few years we had been to the Dough restaurant once every couple of months needless to say that after this disaster you will never see us again.
