Bidrage med feedbackWe dined at 1:00 on a Monday. There were a few people present. We were served immediately and there were plenty of tables available. We elected to sit outside in the courtyard, which was rustic and comfortable. There was a wonderful herb garden at the back of the area. The food was served quickly and was fresh and hot. It was superbly tasty and the portions generous. The pricing was fair. The menu was extensive and there was beer and wine on offer. There were bakery goods, ice cream, toasted sandwiches etc. We had the scallop pie and a Reuben Toasted sandwich, then a Portuguese tart and a baked blueberry cheesecake. The coffee was also excellent. We recommend also taking the time to visit the shops nearby.
What a gem! Amazing staff, very cozy atmosphere with a fire crackling in the corner, and the pies... soft pastry on the bottom, crispy on top and the fillings are so fresh and warming. I tried a scallop pie, scallop and curry pie, and a pepper steak pie (over two days of course). A fantastic bakery cafe in a charming town.
Such a cool, funky place, especially to sit outside when it's sunny and pleasant. Lovely selection of things, and decent coffee. Cool little gifty things inside, and the coolest (tallest door) I've ever seen in my life on a house (outside a castle). Really quirky place, and nice people as well.
Bought a wholemeal fruit cob here and it was sensational. Great crust and fruit. The flavour balanced between the flavour of the wholemeal and the sweetness of the fruit (sultanas raisins). We enjoyed pulling pieces off it as we travelled down to Hobart following the tourist trail.
Nice setting, would be really nice in summer to sit outside in the garden. Food came quick, staff were friendly and the shop had a nice selection of tassie products.
