Bidrage med feedbackTucked away in the Duchally Wyndham Resort Auchterarder is this great restaurant called Monteaths. Everyone talks about Gleneagles Resort but I had never heard of this place before. You can eat here even if you’re not staying at the hotel or lodges but you have to book a table. Food is SOOOOOOO GOOOD you really must try and decide for yourselves. The prices are very competitive. We really were delighted with the Food and the Service we received. Keep up the Greatness guys at Monteaths.
We had our Golden Wedding in the Glendevon. Many thanks to Sarah for organising our lunch. Waiting staff were so attentive and food was amazing. Thank you for making our day extra special. Would highly recommend for a special occasion.
I enjoyed a delicious meal at Duchally Estate. I started with the Sweet potato, chilli coconut soup and the Smoked salmon prawn salad. For my main course, I had the Seabass and Haddock chips, which were generously sized and tasty. The staff were excellent and provided fantastic service. I will definitely return.
My wife and I visited this restaurant recently for dinner. Overall, it was a decent enough meal, but things could certainly improve, and it was a little pricey for what we got. Our starters were tasty enough but I was a little disappointed with my prawn cocktail. The portion was quite small compared to most other places I've ordered this. My dish consisted of prawns, sauce and a few lettuce leaves, nothing more. My wife had lamb with dauphinoise potatoes. Whilst she said everything was very tasty, the portion of potatoes was simply tiny. It really needed to be twice as much as what was on her plate. We ordered a bottle of wine which I believe was about £31. When the waiter poured some for my wife to taste, it had to be taken away as it was very unpleasant. We then had to order a more expensive wine, which was better than the first, but still wasn't great. At least we weren't charged for the first bottle we ordered, but then why should we have been when we didn't/couldn't drink it. The only reasonable value on the night was the dessert. Again, it was a little pricey compared to most other restaurants at the same level, but at least it was very pleasurable to eat. We have eaten at Monteith's several time before, and had much better experiences than this last visit. Whilst the food is decent enough quality, the portion sizes really do need to be improved in order to justify the prices charged. Overall, Montheaths has room for improvement.
Since the restaurant was closed on a Monday and Tuesday night, I decided to try their takeaway menu. I chose the Thai green curry, which sounded delicious. The curry itself was decent, with plenty of chicken and peppers, a nice aroma, and good flavor. However, the rice that came with it was disappointing. It was a small, overcooked, clumpy portion that lacked taste and looked like it had been scraped from the bottom of the pot. Despite this, I was so hungry that I ended up eating it all. On the bright side, the rest of my family tried a takeaway pizza from a neighboring health spa and they really enjoyed it.
