The Hickory Stick On 7th Street

Not terribly thrilled. Really missing Rita's. I can buy a whole carton of Hershey's Ice Cream from the grocery store for less than we paid for two smallish servings here...I was hoping for a new place to move in with better ice cream... Not sure it's really worth the trip. I am amending my review... All the above remains true, and I'll just add that they will NEVER earn my business again. My family does not support businesses who don't support us.

Been here twice now since the location changed hands from Rita's. This is a big upgrade IMO. The water ice is a lot different than Rita's (much creamier texture) but it's really good in it's own right. The ice cream is great too. Glad to have a great place in town for water ice and ice cream.

Went in the evening on a weekend and bought a custard twist. I thought it tasted a bit odd. My wife tried it and agreed. I threw it in the trash container. I went back inside and told the girls who were working that evening. All they said was 'sorry. It 's probably because the machine was running low. ' No offer of another item or a refund. Wouldn 't go here again very soon. New information: just received a satisfying reply from the owner. That means a lot. The youngwomen serving were new and inexperienced. That 's why I didn 't want to to make a big deal that evening and make them feel bad. Thanks to the owner for his/her explanation and offer to make up for the unfortunate experience. Will giveHickory Stick another try!
