As a previous poster mentioned , hygiene practices here are a concern. I decided to buy bread here instead of Coles to "support local".... but not sure if that was a great idea. One employee was looking very ill, red nosed, standing behind the counter wiping her nose several times with a tissue and this was NOT followed by hand washing. It's one thing to go to work sick but another to pass on germs to customers.

I was at Peregian Beach and went into the Essential Grain Bakery for Morning Tea. Their coffee and cakes were a credit to this business. The cakes and slices just melted in your mouth and the coffee was made just perfectly, not to mention the service which was of a very high standard. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a place to eat at Peregian Beach to put the Essential Grain Bakery at the top of your list.

More than a Bakery....great coffee also, but the Ciabatta and the fruit loaf are to die for, also the paninis. Great ready made rolls and hot pies etc also.

Hubby ordered a flat white a while ago, when opened, it was frothy like cappuccino. Went back to the counter & ask for it to be topped up. He was told "you can't "cause it's full. Yeah, full of froth that it can be scooped out. We won't be back, very disappointed with the service.
