Ichiban - Pensacola

This was our first time here though we've passed by lots of times. I liked the decor and atmosphere inside. Its not a large restuarant so it becomes an intimate setting. The food doesn't come out quick which is good because its fresh but when it came out, it was good, tasty and hot.

Not only was the food very tasty, but the presentation was astounding. The portions are very large, and it's affordable as well. The staff is very welcoming. The waitress asked if we wanted a hot towel to clean up with before our meal as soon as we got settled. Outstanding place to relax and eat. Very calm and relaxing.

Ichiban is an outstanding restaurant that offers delicious Japanese cuisine, including fresh and inventive sushi, bento boxes, salads, and soups (the miso and Udon are particularly noteworthy). The restaurant is beautifully decorated, creating a lovely atmosphere. Our service was both professional and friendly, and the wait times were perfectly managed for a busy evening. It was a wonderful experience that I highly recommend to anyone seeking Japanese food in Pensacola. Highlights of our meal included the Cowboy Roll, Crunchy Roll, Steak Bento Box, Udon Soup with Chicken Tempura, and Cheese Yakimando as appetizers, along with a ginger salad and egg drop soup. Definitely a five-star experience!

**Attention Type 1 Diabetics:** If you've avoided sushi due to the rice, consider asking for your rolls to be wrapped in cucumber or lettuce. You still enjoy the same delicious fish and vegetables without the excess carbs. As someone who is quite selective about food, I was unsure about this alternative at first, but after trying it, I'm completely on board. I didn't even realize this option was available, especially since many sushi chefs hold their craft in high regard. However, Ichiban was incredibly accommodating when I explained my situation to the waiter. While you miss the softness of the rice, the crunch of the cucumber or lettuce provides a satisfying texture that complements the tender fish and creamy avocado beautifully. Now, you can join your friends for sushi outings, without compromise, especially at Ichiban!

Claire was our waitress, and she was attentive and excellent. The food was delicious. We ordered calamari, a California roll, a mango roll, a Hawaiian roll, and a super crazy roll. Everything was spot on. The place was also nice and clean.
