Bidrage med feedbackFirst things first: Why is this place closed on Monday and Tuesday? Stopped back in Pendleton for a couple of days really enjoyed ourselves on Sunday. Nice selection of local brew, great service, outstanding food. The vibe is just what we were looking for after a long drive. Came back on Monday for another visit and were so disappointed to find it closed! If you're in Pendleton on any day *other than* Monday or Tuesday, be sure to stop at Prodigal Son.
We came by Prodigal Son to pick up Mr. Wonderful's race packet. Once we entered, we knew we'd be enjoying their food offerings. Spacious, welcoming environment well lit and clean. Ella was our waitress and just by watching we noticed she was taking care of the entire restaurant! She was friendly and efficient. Mr. wonderful. ordered the Pit Boss and it was cooked perfection. I had a patty melt, and it was equally as good. The sweet potato fries are what did it for me, they were perfect! We also wanted to give a shout out to Reannah who was very detail oriented in handling the entire bar area by herself with so many beer orders! Great job ladies, you do this business proud! We will be racing up here again next year plan on stopping at this establishment.... once again.
We called ahead and ordered the buffalo cauliflower, French dip, and the chicken sandwich. The cauliflower was lovely. I felt like the French dip was lacking flavor even with the au jus and horseradish. The tots were good.
The food was fairly good, the Bruce Lee porter was AMAZING!!!! One of my favorite beers now. I just wish it was closer to the tri ciites.
Good lunch spot with beer, the disappointment was the Tater Tots. Why have them at all? The salad (sporting several heirloom Cherry tomatoes), house made tomato soup, sauteed mushrooms , smoked brisket sandwich, ale buttermilk battered onion rings... all super delish! Then there were a mass of mediocre processed 'tots '. Super bummer let down. Why not oiled and foiled baked potatoes, plopped down on its own small plate, split and doused liberally with butter, sour cream and a smattering of sliced scallion? The world will thank you for it. LOVE you for it.
