Bidrage med feedbackAmazing food. I did a take out, ordered Iraqi Kabab with bread and Lentil soup. The kababs were so juicy, soft and absolutely delicious. I haven’t eaten something so good in a long time. The lentil soup was simple but very tasty. The bread that came with the soup looked so fresh and soft. There were some pickled veggies that came with it and they were to die for.I just happened to stumble on this place while I was around there and I will definitely go back for trying the other things on their menu.Parking: Roadside parking available.
Best Iraqi food I’ve ever had since I left Baghdad! I feel like I’m at home there! Staff very nice the food is delicious! We drive from the hamptons in NY to Paterson NJ for this restaurant!
Update 11/19/22: So far I’ve had the Dolma 3 times and sadly I won’t ever be ordering it again. First time, I really enjoyed it. It was nice and tangy and had good flavor. Second time, it was definitely a different recipe, and did not taste as good as the first time but it was edible. This most recent order was again a different recipe, did not have the same flavor as the first two times, was a lot more spicy and had some other spices in it that weren’t in jt before and the dealbreaker for us was that all of our stuffed onions were so burnt that we could not eat them and threw them out. They were burnt through to the middle, not just the outside. The grape leaves were all mushy and just hard to eat, there were no peppers, and they gave us such a small portion for $14.99. This time there was bread which I appreciated, however, the bread was raw around the edges and so we just ended up throwing that out as well. Why are you serving burnt dolma? If you see that it’s burnt, you don’t serve it! If you want returning customers you don’t cheat people out of their money. We ordered Dolma for takeout. And the mint yogurt drink. The dolma is very good and nice and tangy as Iraqi Dolma should be. I don’t like that they placed the dolma on a bed of shredded lettuce. I don’t get that. No one wants to eat soggy lettuce. Would have been better with bread underneath or just plain with nothing. Also it’s a total waste of lettuce because no one eats it. The yogurt drink was also good but unfortunately it was warm. Would have liked it better if it was ice cold. That being said, I’m happy about there being an Iraqi restaurant in the neighborhood and I look forward to going there to try out more delicious Iraqi food.
From Old Bricks (Outside) to Many Faceted Allure Within En route from your start up, discover the overlooked and/or forgotten locales, for us passing a forgotten Manhattan street, Dyre Avenue, near ye Lincoln tunnel, indeed, visually, palpably dire! First family in the restaurant seen from our table; woman with intense lipstick has a hijab and pervasive smile; main family, including three children, that sat at the table directly left of the entrance, leaves after about an hour; her face reaches out of her hijab; her children playing about inside and outside the restaurant door. Other family also with woman in hijab, fill a different spot in the one room. Include two sets of two men dressed almost the same, pants not dressy, both casually Ancient bricks on wall across the street stop all eyes thoroughly; almost like a backstage for restaurant entrances and exits; firm backdrop; everything happens against this rear “curtain,” very New Jersey commercial building bricks. Delicate main waitress, perhaps also owner; decisive and inviting; imbued with various attributes; center of inside space, draws you closer, closer, closer within, draws you away from the ancient New Jersey bricks Taste all not merely the food dishes, within this quasi secluded vibe: lentil soup, hummus, falafel, tabouleh, eggplant salad (with cucumbers and tomatoes) with molasses, sweetener, eggplant); tasteable forever, bagila platter, qayma kahi (pastry and cream), stewed tomatoes. Simultaneously, see/notice/download what you see/notice, what rests in front of you: first and finally ye delicate main server/owner, inviting all eyes, achieving trust from all diners; uniquely fluidly designed diners’ visages, replete with emphatic lipstick, smiling out, out and beyond. Surely don’t omit in your lens two men and their dramatically elegant casual pants.
The waitress girl was very nice. Dawali is different than Palestinian style, it did not taste good at all sadly. I could only eat one piece. $20 for a small amount as well.Hummus tasted exactly like the can and was not good. $8 for it. The bread was good though.I’m sure their other food is good, but these two items were bad. Nice girl though like I said.
