Magnolia House - Pasadena

Magnolia always comes through. The service was a bit slow, but they were very busy and the staff were very friendly and attentive.

Magnolia is a stunning hidden gem located in Pasadena. The restaurant has an open-air design, friendly and attentive staff, and provides the perfect atmosphere for enjoying a meal with friends or colleagues.

Unimaginative food poorly executed. How hard is it to cook an omelette soft and to skip the potatoes and toast and sub a veg or extra fruit? Coffee refills were nonexistent and the wait staff was inattentive. Sunday brunch was busy, but we had made reservations and were placed in direct sun and had to ask twice for an umbrella for shade. The cacophony outside was at a high pitch and the tables were so close together we had to escape sideways, despite being a small woman. This was my first and last visit, which is unfortunate as it's in my neighborhood and I can walk to it and would love to support a local establishment that is not a chain.

We thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails and brunch dishes we ordered, all of which were delicious. The service was excellent as well. We will definitely return.

A bar with cozy atmosphere in the bugalow part, basic bar atmosphere in other parts. Service attentive and friendly. Drink was fine. Wine list quite limited. Food OK. Not a bad place but you wouldn’t make a point of going there for a nice dinner.
