Bidrage med feedbackSadly this quirky, alley based restaurant in Old Town offered up food that was not up to par, and was in far too large portion sizes. The small kitchen clearly likes to fry food and serve monstrously large amounts of it per plate. A refined focus on quality and portion control could go a long way. More is not always better and certainly not here. The pork belly starter was a cheap cut, and far too fatty. The Korean style BBQ pork main was also too chewy fatty and not of quality found elsewhere. The noodle dishes were slightly dried out overcooked, and the fish encrusted in batter noodles crispy coating was lost inside. Overall, the atmosphere (asian decor with B&W films) lends itself to be interesting though.
This place has become one of our favorite restaurants. The staff greet us by name (and often hugs , and we have met many other regulars at one of our many visits. (If there are so many people who have become regulars, there must be something good about this place! The decor is very unusual and quirky, the food is very good, and the staff very friendly. My favorite dishes are the Basil Mignon and Panko Chicken Sandwich. Come on Mondays ALL appetizers and drinks are half priced (and they mean ALL drinks! Weekends are $10 bottomless mimosas (with a variety of flavors and $3 dim sum. They offer free wifi, so it 's a great place to have a drink or two, eat some good (and cheap food, and just hang out!
We were not satisfied with the food at all. The calamari was tough, they were out of couple of items on their menu. I don't think we will go back.
Excellent service. Food was great. Bartender Chris was extremely nice n professional.
What to make of a Pan-Asian place that has more shakes, smoothies and slushes than a 31 Flavors? And multiple pages of offbeat cocktails, but a sparse wine list? Has an all-things-to-all-people sense about it, or maybe they just haven't decided what they want to be when they grow up. No matter. The food served is well prepared and they are trying hard and earnest in their funky little alley space. Worth a visit, if only for the curiosity factor.
