Temasek - Parramatta

After the last bad dining experience we had, we thought we give Temasek another try to give it justice. We had Nasi Lemaks, Hokkien Noodles, Kiew Thiew and curry puffs. The waitress was quick but  she was so under pressured, she took our order running through it like a freight train, no greetings, no smiles, setting the tone to our dinning experience with staffs stressing we have to eat and run within the hour as they needed the table, what a great start.  We were first served the main dishes, two beef Nasi Lemaks, the waiter who brought the dishes from the kitchen asked if we didn't mind having Beef Nasi Lemak, because they made a mistake and if we would help out by accepting the dishes we didn't order to help out with their busy kitchen. I suppose it make sense as this will ensure we finish our food in the allocated time and can be asked to vacate the seat if we over stayed, we were not impressed. Then came the curry puffs, the pastry was not cooked through and had to be sent back. The Hokkien Noodle came splattered on a plate looking like what left over food I would dish out for my dog, the noodle was slapped onto the dish with no care and presentation. If this dish had at least some flavour I would have not have written this review, all that we could taste is the blend rice noodle. The Hokkien noodle was similar, the sauce is too diluted and watery, again all we can taste is the egg noodle, disappointing. 3 out of 4 bad dishes so far, surely the Nasi Lemak should be decent. No, to our dissapointment Temasek didn't stop with a the hat trick, the Ikan Bilis (fried Anchovies in samba) obviously microwaved, was rubbery and tough, make it impossible to chew and shallow. My daughter almost choked on these. So we end our dining experience 5 minutes to the allocated hour before we had to vacate the table with the now re-cooked curry puffs brought to the table, obviously ran through the microwave again. We decided we did not even want to try these fear of ending the night with 5 out of 4. After a very bad dining experience, we left Temasek confirming my view it is over rated, over priced with very poor to no atmosphere, there are obviously many other good and cheaper Malaysian restaurant in Parramatta for us to want to try Temasek again.

Nice place. Cash only. Bit expensive (comparatively), but quality tool. Quantity is also better. Always full lunchtime, so reserve your reservation in time.

The food was delicious, the service was rude, and one of the waiters would not let us sit on a certain table. The sign says only cash, but really means cash only under $ 30. Quite expensive Malaysian for a bad atmosphere.

I visited Temasek a few months ago during a festival Parramatta was having. So it's fair to say it was quite busy. It was probably around 8:30 or 9pm. We waited in line for about 30-35 minutes for a table... The annoying thing was that there were heaps of empty tables- they just weren't cleared. When we finally sat down we ordered a couple of dishes. It took forever to come out and... they gave us only one fork and one spoon. I asked at least 2 more times to get another set but they never came back. I didn't want to make a fuss so my boyfriend ate with a spoon while I ate with a fork. I also asked for a coke zero- and it never came but it was still on the bill. It took them about 10 minutes to finalise the bill because they went to check that I actually hadn't gotten the coke... The food was bad (and came lukewarm) and probably tasted worse because the service was absolutely terrible and they were REALLY badly understaffed.  I would never go back again and I am seriously confused at the great ratings of this restaurant.
