Bidrage med feedbackI past this place on the way back to the hotel. A quick look on Trip Advisor to see the reviews. Pretty good so ordered a take away.Went to collect. It was pretty quiet. Welcomed with a smile and told my order would be ready soon. And it was. Seemed OK and Frank Sinatra was playing which was good.Garlic prawns. I have never been served prawns cooked in a sauce with full shells on and just the head cut off. It was a nightmare eating them. Have had tails on before but not the full shell. Gave up after a few.Carbonara. Lifted the lid and it smelt like cooking fat. Very greasy. The ham was white so presume it was just the fatty parts. Gave up half way through. Some average bread to go with it.So I'm confused. Was this an off night. Is this traditional italian and I'm used to an Australian version of cooking italian dishes. Are the previous reviewers over generous. Not sure. Maybe the managers can clarify. I have even checked twice now to ensure I'm rating the place other people have been to.
Nonna Maria's is our go-to if we want to go out in Parramatta. My in-laws are Italian who hate Italian restaurants but highly recommended this place. It looks quite daggy but that is part of its charm. It has a simple menu, but everything is delicious!
We both ordered vegetarian pasta, so this review is restricted to those dishes. The sauce for the dishes were very thin and lacked flavour. I liked the atmosphere and the staff were extremely helpful. I would return for a quick meal but not if I was looking for excellent cuisine.
This place is great I have been here a few times now. Keeps getting better. Good place to enjoy some Italian classics, really good service from the staff and a real friendly atmosphere.
What an awesome night yet again. Love the pasta, love the Osso Buco ... love everything. Service was fantastic ...
