Bidrage med feedbackFantastic find, you wont be disappointed. From outside and on entering my opinion was "pub grub". Service was fantastic, ran by a brother and sister who were extremely friendly and efficient. Lots of regular customers and locals, which is always a great sign. Our steaks were perfect an our massive desert was delicious. Well worth every euro and we will definitely return.
I was here with some colleagues and I can absolutely suggest this restaurant. It seems to be an old Parisian restaurant, it’s quite small and probably when full a little bit noisy but when we went there for dinner we were almost alone and we spent a fantastic evening. The owner and the waiter were kind and clearly explain you the menu in French but also in English and Italian. There are fixed price menu that include several dishes and they clearly tell you that some dishes, such as escargot, even if included, have overcharges. In this way you don’t have any surprise when you receive the bill.Food was fantastic: I ate escargot and veal liver, everything well cocked. If you are in Paris you can go there to have dinner, we ate well and didn’t spend too much (32€ for a complete dinner).
I am not qualified to rank French dining, but I know what I like. And, I loved this place. Per the server, each day they go to the market and make their choices for the day. Per what I saw, they write the choices on blackboards and they show these to the customers. The menu had the usual suspect of beef, fish, veal, and maybe some chicken. We had the most expensive item on the menu, the Prime rib for two (62 euros). They told me not to order an appetizer as the prime rib was too much to each. I overruled them and had 6 snails. The escargot were wonderful. The prime rib was massive (probably close to a kilo uncooked) along with vegetables, potatoes, purple cabbage and a sauce for the meat. They, of course, gave you some baguette to eat.My wife had made it a point to order creme brulee at every meal. Even though we were stuffed, my wife insisted on ordering here creme brulee. She said it was easily the best (of the five) she had had on this trip. I had no idea this restaurant was ranked this highly when I stopped there, But, it was wonderful and the ranking was deserved.
Went here for dinner one evening whilst in Paris as it was very close to our hotel.Very authentic, quite small in size, think we were the only English couple in there which is always a good sign as everyone else was French.Food was really good - authentic, well prepared and very tasty. Wine was also good.Bill for two courses each and a bottle of wine came to about €100, which is good for Paris.Worth a visit
This little boutique restaurant is an absolute gemstone. We had 1 day in Paris and had picked la Bontendrie as a place to go to get a proper experience, and it did not disappoint. The service, food and wine all excellent.
