Officina Del Gelato - PARABIAGO

These days even in the UK many ice cream shops have popped up claiming to sell‘gelato’ I’m not entirely sure why millennials have decided gelato is trendy and ice cream isn’t when in reality gelato is simply the translation of ice cream (gelato can be‘artigianale’ made by hand in the gelateria with real fruit, and fresh ingredients; ‘gelato industriale’ made in a factory and served by restaurants and or bars; and finally ‘gelato confezionato’ the kind you get from a freezer like Cornetto/Magnum and so on) anyway I digress… The reason this gelateria is phenomenal is the quality of ingredients and the handmade ice cream cakes and beautiful celebration confectionery. If you happen to be in the local area, it’s definitely worth a visit, it’s not a franchise and you can find the most unusual flavours alongside your traditional vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. If you don’t know what a Plasmon biscuit is, try a scoop of Plasmon gelato… you won’t regret it!They also sell Granita which is an artisan version of slush puppy with no artificial colouring and real fruit syrup. The granita alla menta (mint flavour) is refreshing especially sitting outside in the local market square. Kids can get a smaller cone for half the price and you can mix and match your gelato as you aren’t limited to a number of scoops! If you unsure about a flavour they will gladly give you a little taster spoon to try. Great in every way!

I go to Parabiago twice a year to go to the Fratelli Rossetti outlet. Officina Del Gelato is just around the corner, and I always visit here as well. The gelato is just great, the service is nice, and the prices are remarkably low. The gelato is among the best I have had in Italy. The desserts in the refrigerator and freezer case also look good. It's a simple store, but very popular with locals. I have friends in Parabiago, and it's their favorite gelateria as well.

Ho provato una granita sperando di assaporare un gusto genuino che richiamasse il sapore del frutto, ma purtroppo non l'ho trovato. Nessuna attenzione all'impatto ecologico, con pagliette e cucchiaini di plastica e mancanza di contenitori per la raccolta differenziata.
