Cheng Du - PAOLI

This is one of the nicer Chinese restaurants in the Main Line area. Among everything we ordered, the garlic shrimp was the standout dish! The atmosphere was casual and pleasant, and the service was excellent!

The food was excellent and arrived incredibly quickly. The portions were generous as well. Overall, I would rate the food and service as a 5, while the atmosphere gets a 3.

Delicious food! This is genuine Chinese cuisine, not the watered-down version often found elsewhere. I highly recommend it!

However, the service leaves much to be desired. The staff can be rude, pushy, and overly hasty, making the dining experience quite unpleasant. This used to be our go-to place for celebrations and farewells for our college kids, but during our last visit, we felt anything but welcomed as customers. We would have preferred takeout, as we felt rushed throughout our meal. At one point, the server handed me two entrees to place on the table myself, which was unexpected and resulted in my glass of water spilling everywhere—not the dining experience we had anticipated or paid for. Since they reopened for in-house dining, the service had previously improved, but sadly it seems to have declined again. From now on, we’ll stick to takeout from this restaurant. The food is excellent, but there are many other inviting restaurants in the area that offer a more hospitable atmosphere.

I had an incredible experience at this restaurant—it was truly the best I've ever visited. The food was outstanding, featuring fresh ingredients, excellent presentation, and a fantastic variety.
