German Bakery - Palolem

I had a really pleasant experience at this restaurant. I tried the English breakfast and everything was delicious, except for one thing - the orange juice that came with it was powdered and watery. Overall, the restaurant has the potential to serve other delicious meals, but my experience was a bit disappointing.

I have been a regular at this restaurant since I first visited Palolem ten years ago. Despite this being my first visit during Covid times, the place is still running smoothly with the same friendly and highly helpful staff as before. The restaurant is always bustling with a mix of local and international customers during breakfast, and also offers delicious options for lunch and dinner. I enjoy having breakfast here every morning and can recommend everything from fruit muesli to various breakfast dishes, pancakes, and omelettes. Despite the busy morning rush, the kitchen is very efficient and guests never have to wait long for service or their food. The tandoori meals served in the evening are exceptional and larger than average meals found in many other Palolem beach restaurants. If you enjoy a delectable breakfast served by friendly staff, in a beautiful shaded garden, at a reasonable price, then you should definitely visit the German Bakery.

I'm not sure why this place is closed as we visited a few days ago during our trip to Palolem. The pastries and tea/coffee are very reasonably priced for a quick and delicious afternoon snack. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is calm and cool. We enjoyed it so much that we visited again.

Reducing stars from earlier 4 because they duped me. Let me explain: I paid my bill via gpay, the payment got stuck due to an issue on Google's side. So I paid Nain Singh 620 cash with a promise that if he gets double payment...he will refund me my money. It's been 15 days and even with multiple follow ups he has refused to refund my money which is very sad and disheartening. Don't trust them with your money is what I'll say. This restaurant has been consistent for the many years we have been visiting this restaurant. The food is not stellar, but definitely worth the price. A French breakfast and an English breakfast costed us 620 rupees and the quantity was so much that we couldn't finish it all. I'll be skipping lunch today for sure. The staff is very friendly, funny and chatty for that awesome goan restaurent experience that we all have come to enjoy and love. I'll continue to come here for the familiarity and tradition that we have developed in the past 10 years.
