Nobu Palo Alto

We had a very mixed experience. Ambience is nice, food was mostly very good but the organization and the service offered a lot of room for improvement. When you arrive in time for your table you get ushered off into a bar area that is overcrowded and not very inviting. Once we finally) sat down at our table our server was less than enthusiastic to help us out after she realized we were not going to have a huge alcohol bill. When we asked about food recommendations her “ all our dishes are usually good” was not too helpful a hint .. but worst our waitress disappeared after our first courses were served not to be seen for some 60 minutes. For that hour nobody checked if we liked the dishes, if wanted anything else to eat or drink .. nothing.. . we had to flag down a very friendly) young buzzer to get water. When our waitress reappeared she basically told us that she was too busy with a bigger and apparently more important) table than ours. We enjoy Nobu restaurants all over the country but this one is not in the same league as the others. We talked with the manger afterwards and she seemed genuinely concerned about our experience. We will give it one more try the next time we are in town but for now our rating is “mixed experience”.

Overrated. have much better quality sushi places ive been to.

My sister and I decided to finally try NOBU Palo Alto for the first time. We were looking forward to experiencing excellent service and delicious food. Unfortunately, our visit to the Nobu in Palo Alto was disappointing. The waiter forgot to bring out our order of two king crab tacos and did not provide any updates on the situation. Additionally, a table of teenagers kept grabbing the edge of our table as they passed by to get to the restroom. These factors greatly impacted our overall experience at Nobu. While the food was good, the service and atmosphere fell short of our expectations, especially considering the high prices. Overall, it was a disappointing visit and we are unlikely to return.

The food did not seem to be of the usual high quality. The rock shrimp was tough and lacked delicacy. Other dishes were average. The drinks were also average and not particularly outstanding.

Nobu remains at the top of its game. The yellowtail/hamachi crudo, rock shrimp with creamy spicy sauce, and miso black cod are standout dishes. The service is excellent and overall, it provides an incredible dining experience.
