Chef Zhao Kitchen - Palo Alto

Really great neighborhood Chinese cafe. Authentic Shanghainese Essen. Very close to what I tasted in Shanghai.

Try the XLB, the Shanghai rice cake and the salt and pepper calamari. All reasonably delicious, but the feeling the ingredients is a bit light, I expected more napa and pork in the rice cake. Overall, the food is good, average value ratio.

Excellent food, very friendly staff, located in an upscale neighborhood in Palo Alto, this place is a real jewel. Authentic Shanghai taste that stir up my nostalgia of childhood favorite homemade dishes. Some employees can speak Shanghai dialect. Will go back for more.

They have traditional dishes in Shanghai. The steamed rolls and roasted rolls are just fine. The fried rolls were not crispy and too thick. The service was fast and the price was reasonable.

Very good sweet soy milk with Chinese fried donuts, meat veggie rice, and beef stew soup noodles.
