Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken

The chicken was delicious, but the Gumbo was a different story. It tasted more like vegetable soup than traditional Gumbo. Honestly, I've had better Gumbo from a boxed mix. I've never encountered celery, tomatoes, and onions in homemade Gumbo before. They should consider using a Gumbo mix and simply add chicken, sausage, shrimp, and crab meat. If they don't want to use real crab meat, imitation crab meat would work just fine.

I wanted to try their fried chicken since my son and I have been curious about it ever since we spotted it in South Central. While it wasn't the best fried chicken I've ever had, it was decent—kind of a mix between Stater Bros and Popeyes. Another downside is that they only accept cash and no card payments, so be prepared for that. Also, expect to wait about 20-25 minutes for your order to be ready.

Great value for the price! The food is very affordable, especially in these challenging times.

The chicken wings were, as always, fantastic, and the seafood and chicken gumbo was amazing too!
