Azúcar Restaurant And Bar (21 Over)

I love the atmosphere, but I can't stand the menu restrictions based on time. It really limits my options, and because of that, I won't be returning. By the way, if you're dining after 5:00 PM, you can't even order steak tacos! Can you believe it?

I ordered a well-made cosmopolitan, but at $19, it felt overpriced. The serving was not generous, and the martini glass was on the smaller side. I requested it the usual way—a Tito's cosmopolitan, light on everything except for the Tito's. I was surprised to see a $3 surcharge, which I wouldn't have minded if the drink contained a substantial amount of vodka to justify the extra cost. The Hess and Josh chardonnay at $13 a glass was reasonably priced for an average pour. The view of the mountain was stunning, and the ambiance upstairs was warm and inviting. There was a 2% Kitchen Appreciation charge automatically added to the bill (before tax). On our way out, I noticed a "Be Kind" sign near the bar, followed by another "Be Kind or Leave" sign at the hostess station, which felt a bit harsh for a message advocating kindness. However, I found everyone at the restaurant to be friendly, and I was thankful that any unkind customers who might have prompted those signs were absent during our visit.

A charming little restaurant in the heart of Palm Springs offers delicious food. They serve brunch and lunch throughout the day, and their cocktails and mocktails are delightful as well!

Azúcar is wonderful! Beautiful setting good vibes to start! We sat upstairs and it was perfect for our date night. The food is incredible! We had the seasonal salad (watermelon), the prosciutto wrapped dates and the shishito peppers (all delicious) and then split the potato crusted halibut (very good). The cocktails are packed with flavor as well. The service was wonderful too! Will definitely be returning next time I'm in PS!

Overall, I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The food was truly unique and definitely deserves a 4+ star rating. I reserve 5 stars for only the absolute best, but you absolutely won't be disappointed here. The ambiance is lovely; you can dine by the pool and enjoy a wonderful dinner in a great setting, or choose to sit upstairs next to a large fireplace. The boutique design adds a special touch. Keep in mind that drinks are on the pricey side—around $20 as of October 2023—and meals range from $25 to $50, but the portions are generous. I particularly enjoyed the salmon, which was excellent. The service was also great for our dine-in experience.
