Bidrage med feedbackWent there with my immediate and extended family. In total we booked 3 separate rooms: a 3 bedroom condo, 2 bedroom villa, and a room above the country club. The whole resort needs to be updated and refreshed. Some fresh paint and a deep cleaning would do wonders for the resort. The 3 bedroom condo was very spacious and a good location. Other rooms were just ok. All rooms need to be updated and have adequate maintenance. Our bathtub and one sink dripped constantly. The clothes dryer was rusted out. Had to ask for a coffee maker and an iron. The wifi in our room did not work, evidently the router malfunctioned but no one was available over the weekend to replace a router. Finally got wifi Monday evening. Upon checking in we were informed that the beach was closed from 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday due to beach restoration. Excuse me? This is a beach resort in the middle of july. This was completely unacceptable. We were just expected to deal with it. This should have been clearly communicated to us weeks before, when we could still get a refund and book elsewhere. My elderly parents came on this trip so they could walk on the beach. The restoration of the beach graded the sand so steep my mother couldn 't even get to the beach during the non-closed hours. We feel that management knew about the closure ahead of time, did not tell anyone, and were not willing to make any consolations. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a lot of younger people with poor customer service skills running this resort. The beach closure led to the pool areas being overly crowded. The resort does not have enough amenities for the amount of people staying. We had to get in line 45 minutes before the pool opened to try and get chairs at the pool. The resort also has so many chairs set aside for reservations at an additional charge. Chair reservations were completely booked the whole time we were there. The rules at the pools are not consistenly enforced. Children and teenagers were almost always in the adult pool/area/hot tub. I never saw any staff tell children they couldn 't be there. One day our small padded cooler was conviscated and taken to an office. That same day I saw a miniumum of 3 different coolers people were allowed to keep. Either have the rules or don 't have the rules- but be consistent. We did use the fitness center several times and it is pretty nice with plenty of equipment. There 's also a really nice green space just outside the main towers, very pituresque. Two people in our party had sushi on site and said it was very good. Overall the resort was not what we were expecting, and the lack of sincere customer service really added to that disappointment. We would never stay here again, nor would I recommend Hammock Beach and Golf Resort to anyone.
Will never go back. Resort overpriced, outdated and dirty. Resort in need of maintenance, buildings need painting, broken tiles, broken pavers, walk way lights etc. Rooms dirty and dingy, was given a moldy coffee maker when we requested one because neither of the 3 bedroom condos we rented had one. Check in was almost 2 hours late even though we arrived hours early but couldn’t use the pool or beach. Pool was way overcrowded with no available seating and beach was closed M-F which we were not informed of prior to arriving. Also pool chairs cost 15 each to reserve, if you want to try to snag some chairs you have to be in line by 830 am for 9 am pool opening. Asked for call from manager but never received a call. Furnishings in room were sparse dirty and worn out.Outdated to say the least. Our condos were on separate floors and separate ends of resort even though it was one booking. Carpet in 2nd condo was dirty and room was dark and dingy. This resort charges 5 star prices for barely 2 star. Son inquired about golfing , charge was $350 each to golf, so he golfed literally golfed right outside the resort for $40 each. Kids activities were so unorganized and overpriced that the kids didn’t even want to do them. The best part of this resort is the gym, it’s very nice. We also stayed in a 3 bedroom in May and would not have returned after that stay had we not already booked the July stay. May check in was also late, guess they don’t know how to get rooms ready on time. Floors were so disgustingly dirty in that unit that you could not go barefooted. Sent a picture to manager with my dirty feet just after getting out of shower. TV was broken and we were told that is an owner issue and they couldn’t do anything about it. Hmmmm over $700 a night and the resort is ran with complete indifference .When beach is open you will also pay $15 to reserve chairs. Will not go back.
July 2023 I want to start out by saying how my wife and I use to love this property. From the beach and pools to the kids activities at night. Upon our first night in 624, we go to make the pull out couch for our children, and no linens to be found. We booked four guests so it was clear we would need them. However, that’s not that big of a deal, housekeeping brought the linens up. After pulling the bed out, it was clear that bed was in terrible condition, springs protruding into the covering, and when you laid down, your feet were nearly a foot above your head the bed frame was so bent. It was nearly 11 PM so we said we would deal with this in the AM. Around 4:30AM our children were waking us up, they were very uncomfortable and couldn’t sleep in that bed. At 8AM I went to front desk and was greeted nicely, shared my concerns and was told maintenance would be up at 9:30 to handle the issues. On to 1:30 PM, we came up to nap the kids and nothing had been done. I go back to the front desk, greeted nicely again and the staff assured it would be handled by moving rooms. So 1.5 hours later my wife and I packed the room back up and moved next door with zero offerings or help. I mentioned to the staff could there be a resort credit or compensation for this mishap. We were told no since we moved rooms. Furthermore, we were made feel that we were being done a favor by the manager for letting us miss several hours of our second day to move rooms due to their lackluster and horrible accommodations. I emailed the front desk manager, Alberta Brown with zero response. With that said, we have noticed a significant decrease in attention to detail and kids activities since the sell of the resort 2 years ago. Not to mention, we were never notified before our check in nor during it the entire beach was closed from 9-5 during our stay! Waiting nearly an hour for wait staff at the pool to short staff servers in the restaurants. My wife shared our first day here on IG and had dozens and dozens of inquiries to where we are. She has over 200k followers as she’s an influencer. Unfortunately, we won’t be sharing any more good reviews nor recommending to is resort. Save yourself the trouble and go to the Omni in Amelia Island.
This place has gone down hill within the past 2 years. Do NOT recommend. We have two young boys. There used to be great communication about kid’s activities, and now no one knows what’s going on. We were told there would be kids activities at night, we’d even see it on the calendar, and when we’d show up, no one would be there. If looking for a family friendly resort, look elsewhere. This isn’t it anymore.
First of all , when we called for inquiry and reservations, we specifically asked if there were rocks submerged in the shallow end of the water at the beach. We had been to the beach in that general area before and encountered these huge rocks that permeate the coast that are dangerous and inconvenient. It literally precludes you from getting into the water. The salesperson assured us no rocks were there, knowing we intended to spend much time on the beach. We were 4 adults with no kids. So lie 1 was not only jagged rocks all along the shore and into the water, but she didn't bother to tell us they were bulldozing the beach to create sand dunes, thus preventing us from even venturing onto the beach for any weekday, unless we took a shuttle for about a 1/4 mile to another part of the beach also littered with rocks . And these are not small rocks. They look like something you would see a mountain climber grabbing onto. Lie 2 was the no smoking on campus, which thankfully turned out to be false. Lie 3 was the dress code for Delfinos, which was not a strict dress code like they told us. Lie 4 was you would be in your room at 4 pm, which didn't happen until 5:30 when we had dinner reservations at 6:15 with no one at the front desk calling the restaurant to give it a heads up. And although Delfinos is a great restaurant food was fabulous) , no one there seems to know how to answer a phone. I will say in all fairness the resort is beautiful, rooms nice, nice golf course and pools throughout--very kid friendly. But overall, we would not have gone and spent the money we spent for a beach that overlooks Mt. Everest, especially with a bunch of bulldozers there during the week. That misrepresentation almost made us get up and leave. The people at the front desk have a lot to learn about customer service. They could take some lessons from the people who work at the restaurant. The best part of the trip was Delfinos. The bottom line was lack of credibility , which says something about their management. I give it a 2-3 rating on its best day. Go somewhere else , save money and a head injury.
