Varaison Vineyards Winery - PALISADE

The wines were fantastic, and we had the pleasure of tasting with the winemaker, who was both hilarious and entertaining. He really made the experience enjoyable and unforgettable. The wines were delicious, and the winery itself was lovely, with plenty of charming wine merchandise available. I would absolutely return for another tasting, especially since it’s free! Their confidence in their wines is evident in the fact that they don’t charge for tastings. I highly recommend this place!

We had a fantastic experience! We highly recommend this winery. The tasting was more than just sampling wine; you get to learn while having a great time. And of course, the wine is exceptional!

My group of six explored various wineries and vineyards around Palisade, and Varaison was undoubtedly the highlight of our visit. While other places merely offered us a few wines to taste, Varaison provided a more engaging experience. An expert welcomed us and guided us through the wine tasting process, explaining the nuances and helping us sample a fantastic range of delicious wines. This approach made us feel like we genuinely learned something, which was especially appreciated by those in our group who weren't as familiar with wine. Additionally, all the wines we tasted were impressive. The tasting itself was complimentary, and we ended up buying two bottles of a wine we really enjoyed.

This was a FANTASTIC experience!! My wife and I found this vineyard online and the great reviews caught our eye. They did not disappoint! Kristen and Ron, the owners, are warm, funny, and very knowledgeable! We learned some very practical things about wine that we will always be able to apply in both selecting and experiencing wine in the future. It is clear their whole family is passionate about what they do and, although we didn't visit other wineries in the area, I'd have a hard time imagining them being any better! If you're curious about this place, go for it! You won't regret it!

So much to say…it was an amazing experience! Like a similar review- we came to relax with a glass of wine and came away with knowledge about wine including how and why to drink various wines differently.Alex, the winemaker who trained in France, welcomed us even as we arrived at closing time! He was a great host and took the time to share “all things wine”!We highly recommend this experience and we will definitely be back!Oh, and the wine is phenomenal!!
