We had what I will say was a seafood assortment for two of us and peppered mussels for one. followed by pasta and mussels for 2 and pasta and prawns for one. then 2 sea bream cooked on the barbeque that were absolutely delicious. a carafe of white wine a half carafe of red with 3 Limoncello to finish and bottle of water. total bill €65. They don't have much English but there is one of the staff that can speak good English. We enjoyed the experience so much we returned twice more. When we returned for the third time we were greeted so well we felt like we were one of the family.
Incredible authentic fish restaurant. Friendly, professional service with fresh seafood cooked in front of you on the barbecue. A truly lovely experience and highly recommended.
We came because it was so close to our hotel and we had walked past so many times. As stated it's not a romantic spot but it's fun and friendly. We coped fine despite speaking no Italian and shared a yummy seafood platter with wine (the worst bit of the experience perhaps better with beer), bread, etc and it was super cheap under 25 euros. Probably best to take cash as the card machine wasn't working and another tourist was caught out they offered to take her to the cashpoint in the car but she didn't feel comfortable.
We chose to eat Sunday lunch at this restaurant because the place was busy with local families (with completely empty restaurants right next door) and the seafood was being grilled on the sidewalk next to the restaurant. The menu is limited but does have English translations. The staff had almost zero English skills, but were friendly and efficient. We had grilled prawns, calamari, and spada, all fresh, among the best seafood we had during our two weeks in Sicily. The place has a slightly disordered frenetic atmosphere (but not in a bad way), and might be challenging if you have zero Italiano skills.
Had an evening meal here exquisite seafood freshly cooked on a grill at the side of the road. It's chaos at it's best, Palermo street food so fresh and tasty. It is no frills and you sit on plastic chairs in an alley off the road. You drink from plastic beakers and get a seafood feast cooked in front of you. The hustle and bustle of life plays out in front of you as you eat. There is nothing fancy or refined just amazing food served by slightly intimidating men. It's a place I truly recommend for an insight into how sicilians eat. It's not pricey and an amazing experience.
