Whare Waka Cafe - Paihia

15/8/23 Our whanau group of 14 had breakfast here for my daughter's 16th birthday. Prior to our arrival, a table for 14 people was set up so we could all sit together and they took our orders via email so our kai came shortly after we arrived and at the same time so we all ate together. Food was very delicious and well presented! Service was impeccable! Tino pai to mahi Reina Reitu. Special mihi to Reitu for organizing a birthday cupcake for my daughter and taking photos of our group. One of the best breakfasts I've had, Highly recommended 5 stars

Lovely spot for some brunch with very friendly staff. Food was amazing, the waffles were the best I've had at any cafe in NZ! Although it was not very busy the food did take some time due to staffing shortages but we were more than happy to wait. Keep up the good work guys!

Definitely a hidden gem! Food was great. The pork belly salad was delicious and fish and chips were hot and crispy. Also tried the Matariki mussels which were nice too. Lovely setting by the eel pond overlooking the beautiful waka. Only con is lack of seatings/ big tables? Patrons coming from after the Waitingi tour and others so people are waiting for tables especially closer to lunchtime. Would return again next time we visit.

Lovely spot and the staff were fantastic. Really enjoyed the breakfast and we have stopped in a few times to have a coffee/tea. Highly recommend.
