Marites Homestay and Restaurant-Blue Lagoon

During our tour of Ilocos, my friends and I had the opportunity to visit the famous Blue Lagoon. We decided to stay at Marites for the night, where we booked a room for four with air conditioning. The room was spacious enough for all of us. However, the food served at the restaurant was disappointing. It took a long time for our food to arrive, and the portions were small for the high prices. The taste was just average. I was particularly surprised by the teriyaki chicken, which resembled sweet and sour chicken and tasted terrible. They did offer a complimentary breakfast with options like longsilog and tapsilog, but nothing stood out as exceptional. Despite the disappointing dining experience, I did appreciate the room and the view.

This is an average and budget friendly to stay in, far but worth travelling to.The room that we occupied had only one fan that will not be enough to relax people inside though maybe ask for an extra fun (give extra fee), include mosquito repellant inside your bag to bring on travelling as well as first aid kit.The comfort room is nice but the water supply has its own schedule time better to be in the first line if you hear nature calling. No toiletries available since its just a homestay, bring your towel, soaps and shampoo.Bring an extension so you can charge your camera, ipads, go pro and smart phones.Convenient stores are really far away, better to bring extra bottled mineral water, snacks and biscuits and candies.Do not expect a smooth travelling going here but I can assure you another adventure you can include on your heart and mind. :)

Marites H&R is a great spot located in front of the blue lagoon with affordable rooms and food. Mr. Walter and his family are very hospitable. For DIY travelers or groups on a limited budget, I highly recommend Marites H&R. The rooms and food are excellent, with the added bonus of "FREE USE" of the cottage with "NO EXTRA CHARGE". This homestay is budget-friendly, so don't expect too much luxury. Marites H&R is Marites H&R, just like Hannah Resort is Hannah Resort, Manila is Manila, and Pagudpud is Pagudpud - simple logic! The restaurant has a very simple vibe, located right in front of Blue Lagoon. The food was unexpectedly delicious. The chef clearly knows their way around the kitchen. The grilled fish and pinakbet were both winners!
