Los Molcajetes - Oviedo

Friendly staff, very clean restaurant, lovely mexican atmosphere. Excellent tasty Mexican food. Highly recommend!

We ate at the Oviedo location (the other being in Gijon) a few times, both for takeout and in the dining room. The manager is from Veracruz, and she knows what Mexican food is and should be, unlike 99.9% of all other Mexican restaurants in Europe. While it's not as good as Mexican in Mexico or the U.S., it definitely quenched our need for authentic Mexican while here in Spain. Everything we had was delicious, and they have Mexican horchata too (as opposed to the Spanish version), which is always a nice treat. It's pricey, but during all of our travels in Europe, we've never had good Mexican food that was also cheap. It costs here, and you have to be willing to pay for the good stuff. If only they had a terrace, we'd have gone more often. Highly recommended!

Expensive and low quality food. No other customers when we were there 2030-2130. No vegetables or rice served with the main course.

Todo muy rico, amable y rápido servicio. comida típica bien cocinada. No pongo las 5 estrellas porque me pareció caro, por ejemplo para ordenar unos nachos con carne, frijoles, crema y collo de guacamole te puso en cualquier lugar los nachos que tienes que poner suplementos hasta casi 18 euros en el plato... algo excesivo. pero el resto bien.
